I’ve been working as a mechanic and providing roadside assistance for well over a decade, which is why I’ve compiled some of the most common questions I get asked. If there’s something you’re still not sure about after reading these, please do not hesitate to give me a call. I’m always happy to have a chat and help out.
Will you have a battery onboard to suit my vehicle?
Yes! To minimise your downtime, I always keep a full range of batteries in my service vehicle.
Do you have 24v Batteries for trucks?
Yes – trucks run on a 24v battery system which is made up of 2x 12v batteries. I always keep a range of heavy-duty truck batteries on hand.
Do you have deep cycle batteries?
I stock a variety of 4wd starting batteries, but I don’t typically hold deep cycle batteries. When you call to discuss your issue, I’ll identify what type of deep cycle battery you need and will pick this up from a local supplier before coming out to repair your 4wd.
Can you do battery registration?
Yes – if your car requires a quick reprogramming after a battery replacement (most European cars), there’s no need to visit the dealership. I have the latest scan tool equipment and can perform battery registration on all vehicles.
I accidentally locked my keys in my car. Can you help me?
Yes, from Corolla’s to BMW’s I can unlock most makes and models including Lock Picking Audi’s, VW’s, BMW’s, Skoda etc
My check engine light is on. Can you help me?
Yes, I can carry out a diagnostic scan to see why the light is on and advise the correct repair path to take.
What if my car needs a part to be repaired?
I always carry a range of spare parts in my service vehicle to get your car fixed ASAP. In the situation that I don’t have a part, I will go and get it from a local supplier, return to your vehicle and fit it.
Can I contact you after hours?
Yes – call, text or email at anytime. If I miss you, I will get back to you ASAP.
Do you provide a warranty?
Yes, all batteries come with a Manufacturer Warranty ranging from 6 months to 3 years depending on the vehicle and how it’s used. All my repairs are backed by a 12 month / 20,000kms workmanship guarantee.
I’m stuck on the M1. Can you help me?
Yes – Step 1 is to call Main Roads on 13 19 40 for a free recovery off the freeway. While you are waiting for your recovery, call me and I will meet you at the safe location that you have been towed to.
What if I’m not sure what’s wrong with my car?
Give me a call! Any advice is free. If you decide you want me to come out it’s only $95 and I can diagnose and then fix the problem. The $95 call out fee will be absorbed into any repair costs.
Is there a call out fee for a battery replacement?
No, delivery and install of your replacement battery is free. You only have to pay for the cost of the battery.
Will you check my Alternator?
Absolutely, checking that your alternator is charging is all part of my battery install process.
How much will it cost to jump start my car?
My standard call out fee is $95. I can also diagnose your car to see if there’s any underlying issues. If it turns out that you need a car battery replacement, the call out fee will be absorbed into your battery fee.
I’ve got a flat tyre, can you help me?
Yes – I can come out, fit your spare tyre and advise on the best repair options.
Do you have maintenance free batteries?
Yes – all the batteries I stock are maintenance free.
